NHTSAs investigation found that 00-03 Tundra spare tires which are mounted to the rear cross-member were falling off due to frame rust. Back in March Toyota expanded its frame-related recall campaign for the 2000-2003 Tundra as affected trucks arrived in droves across the nation with significant amounts of frame. Hot Cars said that the frames were not properly treated in the beginning and mainly became damaged in the rear. 2017 for an airbag recall that was fixed and spoke to an employee about additional rust which had developed on the frame since we purchased it.
