Differential noise I have a 2001 Toyota Tundra Limited TRD with 162000 miles. In a panic-stop situation the ABS will automatically activate to prevent wheel lockups and skidding. My experience with brake pads wearing out seems to be more similar to this grinding but it only makes the grinding noise at around 20 mph and no other times and not when Im braking.
Aug 9 2009 Member. As I increased rpms the noise became more pronounced on the drivers rear end. Discussion in 1st Gen.
There is no strange noise while driving no noise under light braking and no noise while turning or anything. Average failure mileage is 136350 miles. Loud noise is coming from rear brakes Inspection.
Asked by A_Rod3 Jul 27 2015 at 1157 AM about the 2001 Toyota Tundra. As I accelerate a noise from the rear end becomes pronounced. The system works by pumping the brakes to ensure stability and control which causes the grinding noise and the rumbling brake pedal.
Initially I thought it was the front brakes as I knew they were due to be changed. Theres a constant light grindingnails-on-a-chalkboard. I even had the noise while slowing down for an intersection.
