2001 Toyota Tundra Airbag Light Is On
I popped a B0138 code on my 02 Tundra which is a short to battery in PT airbag or explosive module LH circuit.
2001 toyota tundra airbag light is on. When it lights up its an indication that there is a problem with the Supplemental Restrain System SRS. I have a 2008 toyota tundra that had the air bags on the steering and drivers seat deployed. I took it to the mechanic and it appeared to be fixed but the light came on 6 months later.
8 Dec 11 2008 Edited You cannot reset an airbag light without fixing the problem. You are correct when the light is lit the air bags will not deploy in the event of a crash. Your airbag light is part of your Tundras larger supplemental restraint system.

I connected the 4th pin of the upper row and the 5th of the bottom row of the obd reader reader on my tundra. You should take it to a mechanic for repair immediately as you do not want your airbag to deploy while you are driving. It will blink the trouble code with a 2 digit number.

In the auto position the indicator light status will vary depending on the operation of the occupant classification system. According to the recall notice the air bag issue was the target of the recall. The SRS warning light will come on and front passenger occupant classification indicator light will indicate OFF if there is a malfunction in the front passenger occupant classification system.
