2000 Toyota Tundra Starter Relay Problems
That clicking sound that you hear is the starter motor solenoid energizing.
2000 toyota tundra starter relay problems. Im unfamiliar with the 1st gens fuse box. If it clicks that means that the starter motor is getting voltage. If the circuit has not yet completely failed you may hear a clicking noise as you try to turn the key.
The next thing that I would do is to plug up a spark plug tester 5 at autozone up to the plugs and make sure that they are getting voltage. Before I replaced the starter what was happening was I would turn the key to start nothing would happen for a second or so then the starter would engage. However yesterday i cleaned it all up and went to go start it and take it to a shop to get my rear stopping light fixed but it wouldnt.
That worked for a few days. Was the Starter Relay inside the engine fuse box and not the Starter of Starter Selinoid. I cleaned the battery terminals thinking they were dirty.
2000 Toyota Tundra starts occassionally. Check your fuse box for a blown ignition fuse relay. If you press this button or if you turn the key on a manual ignition switch and the vehicle does not turn over it may be caused by a problem with the starter relay.
There is a 5amp starter fuse under the hood in the fuse panel make sure its good if it is remove the starter relay in the same fuse block the relay has numbered terminals identify terminal three on the relay and the corresponding connector in the fuse box apply 12volt battery voltage directly to terminal three of the socket with a jumper wire from the battery the starter should turn the engine. Check cranking and charging systems. Recently replaced the starter.
